Smoky Tomato Sauce

Smoke is a seasoning, not the entire sauce. Charred red pepper and a small amount of smoked paprika give tomato depth while leaving it recognisably useful for pasta.

Tomato

It provides the main body and acidity.

Charred red pepper

Pepper adds natural sweetness and real char.

Smoked paprika

A small quantity extends smoke without tasting synthetic.
